My favourite web service, last.fm, has been aquired by CBS. I have always been supporting last.fm as a subscriber while they were independent, but if they are owned by a media kraken now, I see no point in paying for next to no additional value. But fear not, in their also new Blog (finally…), Russ states in the comments:

As for the subscription thing, we’ll shortly be launching a new subscription service which will offer much better value for money. The current subscription service sucks, I agree with that.

Well, I look ahead to that
And since they rolled out the best features they ever had this year, I’m pretty sure this will stay great and get even better by this acquisition. Go last.fm!
