Now, finally, the second iteration of my top albums for 2006. I remembered more albums and shifted the places a bit. So now here are my top 10 for 2006. I will only comment on the new entries. Positions that shifted are due to rethinking or inserting other entries.

1. BILLY TALENT - Billy Talent II
2. INTO ETERNITY - The Scattering of Ashes
3. MASTODON - Blood Mountain
4. RAGE - Speak of the Dead

I almost forgot this amazing new Rage album! With the Suite Lingua Mortis, a breathtaking combination of classic and Power Metal! A must have!

5. TRIVIUM - The Crusade
6. DISILLUSION - Gloria

I’m still not completely warm with this album, as it is so different from their previous albums. But I know that it is great, even if it mixes in some Industrial and maybe even mildly electronical elements.

7. TOTO - Falling In Between

Toto also had a new release, and a very very strong one! Just listen to the Uber-song “Bottom of your Soul” and you’ll know what I mean. Lots of slops to the awful review in german Rock Hard magazine, good I bought the CD before I read the review!

8. WOLF - The Black Flame

9. SPOCK’S BEARD - Spock’s Beard
10. HAMMERFALL - Threshold
Good enough for a tenth place in a rather weak year!
