gNoSense
If you want people to use your Linux, you have to provide the measures that it will simply work on most people’s PCs. If an otherwise good organisation like the Free Software Foundation now recommends the Linux distribution gNewSense, which is Ubuntu with all non-free or open components removed, that accomplishes the exact opposite. It results in no graphics card drivers, non flash plugin etc. Stuff I won’t put up with, and I use Linux because I love it and hate Windows. So I really like this open letter and applaud the author for it.
