Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) released

Yesterday, the new Ubuntu version 6.10, edgy Eft, was officially released. While the old one, Dapper Drake, is the eternally stable one with three years of support, this one is the one with all the new stuff, like Firefox 2. Look, Ubuntu is better and easier to use than Windows, maybe a bit different here or there, but easier overall.
You should just go to the homepage, e.g. of the KDE Ubuntu distribution Kubuntu, and download and burn a CD of the system. Reboot, and try a live system without installing anything.
Try the Konqueror, the verstile file manager with tabs, file previews, complete internet browser and everything! Don’t tell me that’s not an incredible tool! Look at how many software packages you get for free! Full Office functionality with OpenOffice, or KOffice, or Abiword, you can choose, they’re free! Graphics editing! Use automatix to automatically install all you need for multimedia and anything you are used to in Windows. Installing software with the graphical packet managers is easier than in Windows! Just search the package you need, click, and wait a minute. Ready to go!
Give good free software a chance. Or sell your soul with the new Vista conditions for an inferior product that costs a lot, whatever you like best.
