Morse Portnoy George - Cover to Cover
After Neal Morse left Spock’s Beard, I ignored his solo albums. That “God is great, Jesus is great”-shit annoyed the hell out of me. But now he released a CD with cover songs that were recorded during the sessions to his solo album.

Although I hardly know any of the original songs (at least I know most of the original artists…), this is a really pleasant CD to listen to. Relaxed and well played, with the magnificent voice of Neal Morse. Great songs, not much progginess, but still exciting to hear.
The CD has songs by The Monkees, Cream, Paul McCartney, Cat Stevens, Joe Jackson (great song!), Chicago, David Bowie, U2 (I hate U2, it’s only midldy better when played by Morse and co…), Badfinger, George Harrison, The Who, Moody Blues and Blind Faith.
It’s just a bunch of great musicians having tons of fun, and it sounds exactly like that! 7.5/10

While I have ignored Neal Morse’s religious music, I absolutely love his Sola Scriptura album. Great prog metal that’s worth a listen.

A tip: Give Morse’s “religious music” a chance, it is as great as any of his other work.
Sola Scriptura revolves around Martin Luther and the contemporary corruption in the catholic church, and so is highly “religious” - but as Rajiv says: great prog metal.
