Testing XGL/Compiz

I justed tested the XGL/Compiz window manager for Ubuntu. While it may not be usable for real work yet, as just some virtual workspaces to click are faster, it is immense fun to use. You can place 4 workspaces on the sides of a cube and have awesome graphical effects when switching between them! You can turn your cube, you can place windows over the edge. If you move your mouse to the upper right corner, you get small windows of all active windows and can choose one to work with! You have transparency effects and everything that moves, popping up windows, closing them, tooltips, appears with nice smooth animations or ripples or whatever. It’s just fun, and with some additional features might even be the future of usability! I might stick with it or use it from time to time just for the coolness factor :)
